• About Us

Our mission began as Love INC of New Jersey in 1994 to meet the needs of the Monmouth County community through our partnership with local churches. Churches are a plentiful resource in our community, with caring members who strongly desire to serve their neighbors in need. However, many churches encounter obstacles as they try to fulfill their mission to serve.  Love Thy Neighbor, is dedicated to helping churches transform love into action by carrying out a ministry that is organized, collaborative, responsive and effective.

As local agencies are overloaded with meeting so many needs, Love Thy Neighbor stands ready to provide help in ways that agencies cannot.

Every year Love Thy Neighbor provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support to thousands of children and adults throughout Monmouth County. We are blessed to have a dedicated staff and a partnership with 145 churches and 45 Monmouth County Agencies. We have a vision for the future and with the support of our many volunteers and donors, we can make that vision a reality.

    In 2023

    • Total requests served (from all Programs) – 4,953
    • Total financial support to those in need – $147,092

In the last 30 years Love Thy Neighbor has continued to serve our clients by providing goods and services along with prayer. With your help, we pray that Love Thy Neighbor can do even more!

God’s love is immeasurable, powerful and unfailing. By sharing that love with others, Love Thy Neighbor can fulfill its calling to mobilize the church and to transform lives and communities in the name of Christ.

As of January 1, 2017 Love INC of New Jersey changed its name to Love Thy Neighbor. Why the change? Love INC is a national organization. We were one of a number of chapters nationwide. The cost to be part of the national organization became prohibitive. We want our dollars to be spent locally to help those in need. Love INC has always been its own non-profit and will continue operating under the new name, Love Thy Neighbor. The vision, mission and services will remain the same.
